Our Story
A Small Act of Love That Became a Movement
Humble Beginnings Promise began in 2023 as a small act of love — a simple effort to help children who lacked basic essentials for school. What started with a handful of families quickly grew into a movement powered by generosity, community, and the belief that every child deserves a fair start.
Thanks to the kindness of donors, partners, and volunteers, our reach has expanded each year. What began as a small project has become a growing promise: to stand beside children and families with support that truly makes a difference.
Why Guatemala
More Than the Place We Serve — It Is Home
Guatemala is more than the place we serve — it is home. Our founder, Enma White was born and raised in Guatemala until the age of nine, and the country remains deeply meaningful and close to the heart of our organization. The challenges faced by children in Guatemala's public schools are personal to us, and they inspire our commitment to give back with humility, love, and purpose.
By focusing our efforts here, we help open doors for children who simply need a chance — a chance to learn, to grow, and to believe in what's possible.

What We Do
Meeting Children Where They Are
Our roots began with providing school essentials — supplies, uniforms, and support to help students buy lunch. Children served are K-6 grade levels. With the entire Kindergarten grade receiving school supplies. That is 80-100 school supply kits. Our mission will continue to grow.
Humble Beginnings Promise looks forward to supporting children through a variety of needs — academic, practical, and encouragement. We are looking forward to our program evolving as the needs of Guatemalan students evolve, ensuring we remain responsive, compassionate, and impactful.
